Best Bluetooth Keyboard for Blackberry Playbook | Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Andorid 3.0+

I’ve been using the Blackberry Playbook for quite few months now and I should say its an remarkably versatile device for anyone who love multitasking. Getting an external bluetooth keyboard for the Blackberry Playbook just enabled me use it like an amazing laptop with touchscreen. Fortunately, the (pseudo) brand market competition forced Blackberry to bring down the price for Blackberry up to 30% less than its initial price. Now, we’ve got a tablet with HD screen, 7 hours battery backup and an App Store with plenty of HD Games and Apps for cheap price, all with the Blackberry Playbook that cost around $200 now.

I did plenty of research about the best keyboards for Blackberry Playbook, most of the keyboard reviews where out-dated. The initial OS of Playbook didn’t support a lot of bluetooth keyboards but from OS 2.0 updates ( which is a mandatory update for all the Playbooks) things changed and a lot more devices were supported. There weren't much reviews about the new keyboards that supported playbookAlthough, I found a lot of cheap keyboards they where all with those silicon kind plastic keyboards and I was not comfortable with them. I wanted to get those with the hard chiclet keyboards to type on my Blackberry Playbook. After a deeper research, I found that Logitech Tablet Keyboard For Andorid 3.0+ was the best affordable bluetooth keyboard available at the moment.

Will Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Andorid 3.0+ work for Android?

This was the next question that popped up right away in my mind. The answer is ‘Yes’, Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.+ will work fine with Blackberry Playbook.  Although Logitech doesn’t specifically mention that it work with Playbook, it does from my experience and it’s a technically accepted fact. There is a set of bluetooth device profiles supported by every devices. The Blackberry Playbook supports the profile HID ( Human Interface Device) very efficiently and ‘HID’ is the same profile of the Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0+. The Playbook works perfectly well with this bluetooth keyboard. One advantage I found about this keyboard was that it can be remotely used, its not bound along together with any cover for blackberry like other popular bluetooth keyboards for Playbook. You can keep the keyboard anywhere and do the typing. The cover that you get with the Logitech Tablet Keyboard can be folded to be used as a perfect stand for the Playbook. However, the small set of function keys ( the ones you can use to play songs, open browse, calendar etc) doesn’t work with the Playbook they are not much useful either (when you have the in-screen touch functionality already). The tablet has 4 AAA size battery and would last upto 10 months upon regular use. In my experience, Logitech Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard for Android is the best external keyboard available for Blackberry Playbook. You can check out its best price and purchase it from Amazon :

Building Autonomous Drone with Raspberry Pi and APM 2.8

I am a total newbie to hardware and was pushing my limits to see how far I can reach on with hardware projects (which sparked my interest lately). I have set out on a very ambitions mission  to control a drone from raspberry pi .I began the research for this around 2 months ago and had brought a raspberry pi, drone body kit and apm flight controller. The key difference of this project from common drone projects is that I'm trying to avoid the use of and RC and instead use the raspberry pi to control it.  Hardware Ins tallation Setup: I am using APM 2.8 and Mission Planner. I am using RPi 3 to control the APM 2.8 via Telem port of APM I am planning to power the apm via the battery to ESC (Electronic Speed Controllers) Now, documenting my steps below: Day 1 Watch Tutorial To get started with APM flight controller, I watched this video tutorial [1] which gives a gentle introduction about APM board.  Setup APM board and Calibrate Sensors I downloade...

Adafruit GFX - How to change line spacing in text?

You may want to update the line spacing to be a little lower than default due to small screen size on IoT devices. I faced this challenge while working on a Watchy hobby project. You may have used a font generator or just using the default fonts and got a *.h file that has the details of the font. In that case just change the last integer value in the PROGMEM variable.
